Bolt couplings
MBT Standard socket | In the case of renovations, it is possible to simply replace the reinforcement in need of restoration. The connection of the reinforcement bars fit in just as easily between an old and a new building
MBT Reducing socket | The reducing socket is used to connect bar ends with different diameters
MBT End anchoring | End anchors are especially suitable for the following areas of application: End anchoring of reinforcing steel, end anchoring in pile cages, loose rock anchors, pressure distribution plates and welding sockets
TTS Standard Couplers | Standard Tapered Thread Couplers are designed for use when connecting two bars of the same diameter, where one bar can be rotated. They are available to suit bar sizes 12mm to 50mm
TTT Transition Couplers |
The transition range is used to join rebars of different diameters when it is possible to rotate one bar, and is designed to achieve failure loads greater than 115% of the characteristic strength of the smaller diameter grade 500 bar. The couplers are designed to suit bar sizes 12mm to 50mm |
|
CXL Coupler | CXL couplers produce a full strength joint yet they are among the smallest in the couplers range, best suited to large scale projects requiring a high volume of couplers. The end of each bar to be joined is cut square and enlarged by cold forging. This increases the core diameter of the bar to ensure that the joint is stronger than the bar. Parallel metric threads are cut onto the enlarged ends
CXL Transition Couplers | Transition coupler with parallel thread used to connect reinforcing bars of different diameters, where one or both rods can be rotated. Commonly used in columns where the diameter of the reinforcing bar decreases as the columns expand upwards |
Benefits
- Officially approved by DIBt Berlin
- Approved for predominantly non static loading
- No processing of the bar ends required
- Secure control of the assembly by shearing the shear studs
- Efficient and economical installation by using easy-to-use standard tools as well as the low break off torque of the shear studs
- The extensive range of standard sockets, and reducing end anchors ensures predictability and flexibility for universal applications
- Well suited for renovations and expansion
- Numerous country-specific approvals and survey reports assure its use in the context of international standard
Applications
- The MBT reinforcement coupler is particularly suitable for the replacement of damaged reinforcement, the connection of old and new constructions, the connection of pre-cast concrete units and of high pre-cast chimneys
